JUST BEFORE YOU LEAVE…

I just want you close

Where I can keep you from the cold

Wrap my arms tight around you

Until we become one, and not two

Place your head secure on my chest

Maybe gently slip my hands under your vest

Stroke your hair gently, maybe in ones and twos

With thoughts of how you I never want to loose

Feel your body warm up to mine

Feel us both mould into a straight line

Even as our hearts together beat in unison

Playing the tune of a love that defies reason

Echoing the desires of two hearts together bound

Telling the tale of how each other we found

I just want you close

Where I hope we can together grow old

  1. Nice One. What if I decide not to leave. Will I be treated this way or it's because am leaving you want to give me a last dose?

    1. It is sooooo much better if you decide not to leave. I'm doing all this to convince you to stay.

  2. Hmmmmmm............(thinking if i should stay). Read my mind.... Look through it and consider if i have been treated well in the past for me to consider staying. Decisions are made based on combinations of past events and not necessarily present happenings. Past wounds, especially those yet to be healed ones will communicate more with the leg to leave but sweet words like yours might communicate with the heart and so a re think might be considered. You next blog should talk on thoughts surrounding why some leave and why others stay. For me i will stay all for you. :)

I believe every1 shuld try to heal, no matter how hard it is...cos we all deserve to be happy, and without healing first, we cannot find that place of happiness.

Also considering your suggestion for my next blog post...even if its not the immediate next, would work on it.

      Merci, Mon ami

  4. ::: ...but your rival's offer is just too enticing? even though you try to keep me with this line! "Playing the tune of a love that defies reason" "Until we become one, and not two". I suspect you 'JUST' want me close for a night stand:::

  5. ::: I have faith in you no doubts but please give me a more concrete reason to stay. rewrite this script of doubts hovering around me and lets write a new script to end with this "Until we become one, and not two" :::

  6. Hi Tiwa,

I really like the poem and would definitely use it if I needed to convince my hubby to stay (by God’s Grace this wouldn’t be necessary in the future :) I very much like the second line of the poem where you express one of the reasons why you want the person to stay (so you can protect them by keeping them from the cold) – that’s an expression of unselfish love :)

A little in response to the poem I would like to share one of mine with you. In response because it gives ‘her’ an alternative when ‘he’ chooses to leave even though ‘she’ insists ‘he’ would stay… Let me know what you think, please…

  9. This dwells more on the physical for me. Though I see an attempt in the last line to talk about a future (growing old together), my crooked mind could choose to read it as: "Hey, can we be shag mates for a reaaally long time?"

Otherwise, this is beautiful poetry, I suwear!!! And how come I'm just seeing it?
